What is Teacher Academy?
Career Pathways to Teaching Professions (Teacher Academy) encourages students to see careers in education as rewarding, fulfilling, and within their reach while providing students with a rigorous academic program emphasizing the skills necessary to succeed in college. The program offers students experiences observing and assisting a variety of teachers at a variety of grade levels and subjects.
What can you earn?
Students completing this program and receiving a passing score on their Webxam and portfolio may be eligible for college credit at participating state schools and universities in Ohio.
As part of the Teacher Academy you are a member of SkillsUSA and Educators Rising, both of which are nationally recognized career technical service organizations.
What do you learn?
The program content prepares students for professional careers in educational institutions. In the majority of cases, individuals will need to obtain a baccalaureate degree and teacher certification as a part of the qualifications for being in charge of a classroom. This program consists of four courses--Introduction to Education, Education Principles, Child and Adolescent Development, and Classroom Management.
