ELHS Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are unique because we have classrooms and labs located on our campus to assist students to become college and career ready. Most CTE programs in Ohio require students to travel half or full day to receive job training. Our students have the advantage of remaining on campus which means they remain fully engaged in the high school experience.
Our elective courses are far more than the standard 40 minute class periods. We provide students with project based learning experiences in classroom settings that mimic professional job sites.
The majority of our 13 programs have two levels. This means students have their junior and senior year to earn skills that prepare them for college and careers. Juniors take their career tech programs in the morning and seniors take afternoon classes.
Every sophomore is given the opportunity to visit the the programs they feel suit them the best. By law, there are only 25 spots available in each program.
Employers report they have job vacancies. The number of high-skills jobs that need to be filled by 2020 is equal to the populations of Chicago and Houston combined.
Prior to graduation at ELHS students are able to earn industry recognized credentials. All of our programs are recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.
Students entering 7th grade are required to have at least one dose of meningococcal vaccine and one dose of Tdap vaccine prior to entry.
Students entering 12th grade must have a second dose of meningococcal vaccine. If the first dose of meningococcal vaccine was administered after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required.
Please turn proof of the above vaccinations into the Junior/Senior High School office.
